Envelope

In SolidWorks, an envelope is a feature that allows you to create a part to Envelope part (Construction Part).
The envelope feature does not affect the actual geometry of the components in the assembly, But it does provide a visual representation of the space that the assembly occupies or , It can be used for features like Join and Cavity to add or remove this envelope part to another part.

How to create Envelope Part?

  • Right-click on a Part.
  • Properties.

  • Check : Envelope.
    • image

Advantage & Use :

  • Allways excluded from Bill Of Material.
  • Can hide or show all envelope part in just one click.
  • Transperent part.
  • Visual Referance.
  • Used For features like Join , Cavity
  • Simplification of Complex Assemblies
